Life Lessons from Luke

The message of the Gospel is countercultural in many ways, reversing assumptions most of the world takes for granted. It says that the first are last and the last first. It proclaims the poor blessed, while the world pursues riches. It praises the humble, but the world admires the proud. Some of biggest challenges to the world’s values (and ours) have to do with our attitudes toward money. These passages from Luke’s Gospel prompt reflection on our relationship with money and challenge us to reconsider how we think in light of Jesus’ teaching.
